The Luxury Of Mediterranean Cruises

from:

Mediterranean cruises are vacations that you will never forget. There is nothing like being waited on hand and foot while you relax by a pool overlooking the majestic Mediterranean Sea. The scenery sailing past France, Italy, Monaco and Greece is some of the best in the world and the sunsets are outstanding. The cruise ships that sail these waters are known for their first class accommodations for each and every guest. There are pools, Jacuzzis, nightclubs, Broadway shows, shopping, restaurants, art auctions and games to while away your time while on a Mediterranean cruise. Of course there are the off shore excursions as well. Every port has several excursions from water activities to tours of every possible location and shopping trips to some of the best shopping locations in the world. Mediterranean cruises are truly unique vacations.

Preparing For The Cruise

Preparing for Mediterranean cruises is a work of complete organization. You are only allowed two suitcases and you have to make sure these suitcases will fit underneath your bed or in a small closet. You will have to unpack and put away your clothes when you move into your stateroom as there is no place to leave your bag open except the bed. The rooms are very nice on the Mediterranean cruise ships and even nicer when you get a larger suite room with a veranda. Not only is there a queen size bed, but a pull out sofa, coffee table, dressing table, nightstands and TV. Taking several pairs of shoes is a good idea since you have formal dinners and many excursions which include a lot of walking. Comfortable clothing for these excursions is a must because many of them include bus trips to get to the location of the actual excursion. If you are visiting the Vatican there is also other special considerations, such as a hat or veil which must be worn while inside the basilica. Depending on the time of the year that you travel, a sweater or jacket is a must. Some of the summer nights aboard ship are a little cool when you walk the decks on an evening stroll. If you forget any of your toiletries, makeup, perfume or glitzy jewelry for formal dinners, the stores ships have it all. These Mediterranean cruise ships are really small floating cities.

Having a veranda is a wonderful idea so you can leave your door open at night and let the cool Mediterranean breezes come in. You can sleep away the mornings or get up and exercise in a state of the art gym, get a massage in the world class spa or jog on the upper deck of the ship. There are golf pros, hair stylists, massage therapists, naturalists, entertainers and usually special guests of all sorts on Mediterranean cruises. The cruise lines have come up with almost everything that anyone could want to do to help them relax on one of their cruises. So whether it is a single vacation you want, a romantic getaway for you and your husband or a fabulous family vacation, Mediterranean cruises should always be the first consideration.
