Unusual Cruises And Vacations
from:When one thinks about the most common cruises and vacations one normally reflects on the wide open spaces and the open seas. These may be the type of cruise vacations one sees in the magazines and the windows of the travel agents, however, there are more exotic cruises with vacation themes that should be discussed.
Nile Or Amazon Style Cruising
When one thinks of cruising one does not normally talk about cruising down two of the largest water ways in the world. Vacations and cruises that focus on major rivers such as the Nile or Amazon will expand the awareness horizons of most people. Yes, these cruises offer luxury vessels, sometimes. Yes, these cruises offer incredible sight seeing. But perhaps most importantly they show our world in an untouched format. Cruise vacations down the Amazon may put you amongst rain forests and cultures that still find your vessel novel. Perhaps these people are even afraid of you. Certainly vessels that cruise the Amazon are not in the 100,000 ton range or class, but many will offer sufficient comforts and relaxation that you find yourself in awe of mans own audacity at cruising amongst the wilderness in this way.
Nile cruise vacations are none the less spectacular; however, the scenery and the views of ancient history remind you that you are traveling down one of the oldest traveled paths in man’s history. Ancient Egyptians used this river to trade and conquer lands in the far corner of Africa and the Middle East.
The New Adventure Cruises
One can then take these exotic destinations one step further with cruise vacations that offer adventure based excursions. These would be targeted at folks who enjoy unique experiences. These cruises would provide luxury themed accommodations and also offer excursions that would test out your endurance and capabilities. Taking the example of a cruise vacation targeted at cruising the Amazon. The ship would be dressed out in a jungle theme with wild monkeys roaming the ship and the crew dressed in appropriate local wear. What a treat it would be to be on cruises and vacations like that. Capping off your adventure would be excursions that would offer guided tours in dugouts where you could explore the tributaries and uncharted areas of the Amazon. Cruises and vacations that are this exotic would not be everyones cup of tea. They would have to be rather expensive to cover the costs of the insurances and liability issues with putting large number of people in potential danger. Of course all participants in such a cruise would have to sign waivers to minimize the legal exposure of the cruise operator.
